It all begins with an idea…

The Carolina Renaissance Festival was introduced in 1994 with six acres of exhibits, attractions, and entertainment. The event has grown into a twenty-five acre theme park filled with charming cottages and castles, kitchens and pubs, and a most unusual collection of people powered rides, games of skill, and immersive entertainments - all nestled in 325 acres of pristine woodlands just north of Charlotte, NC. The Carolina event has grown to be one of the largest of the Renaissance Fairs nationwide.

The Carolina Renaissance Festival is committed to community involvement and supports the important work of our region’s non-profit agencies. Each year the Festival makes available $300,000 in free admission opportunities in effort to support non-profit organizations with raising funds and items for charitable purposes. Examples include complimentary tickets for use in auctions, raffles, and other fundraising events as well as raising school supplies, canned food items, and coats for those in need. The Festival also makes available colorful costumed characters for non-profit event appearances. Click to learn more!
