Please note that to minimize employers losing workers to other employers on site, we don’t permit participants to change jobs in any given season. Front Office Assistant / Receptionist:
The Carolina Renaissance Festival is looking for a Seasonal Front Office Assistant / Receptionist. This position offers approx. 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, leading up to the opening of the Festival season on September 29 and may change to include one or more weekend days during the Festival season which ends on November 19.
Responsibilities include assisting office personnel with projects, greeting and helping walk-in office traffic, and answering the phones. Applicants should be friendly, detail oriented, and have excellent customer service skills. Office experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office is helpful but not required.
This seasonal weekend position is responsible for the manual operation of the Festival's Cabriolet carts. Cabriolets are push and pull carts that patrons pay to ride in to be transported from place to place within the Festival village. Applicants should be friendly, outgoing, engaging, have ability to maintain awareness of surroundings, and be capable of pulling and/or pushing the Cabriolet carts over extended periods of time. Each Cabriolet ride is operated by two people. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Volunteer Stage Crew:
The volunteer Stage Crew supervise the mechanical and production needs of their stage. Depending upon the needs of the specific stages and acts, members of the crew may handle responsibilities such as sweeping the stage, arranging the benches, calling up a crowd, hanging signs, ushering patrons, checking posted stage schedules, assisting with hat pass, as well as set up and take down of props. On some stages, working with a sound system may be required.
Front Gate Ticket Takers:
This seasonal weekend position is responsible for greeting patrons and accepting their tickets as they enter the village. Applicants should be friendly, outgoing, engaging, have attention to detail, and ability to maintain awareness of surroundings. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older.
Box Office Ticket Tellers:
This seasonal weekend position is responsible for selling various ticket denominations at the box office windows. Needed skills include ability to do basic math, make change, run a credit card machine and reconcile a cash drawer. Applicants should be friendly, detail oriented, and have excellent customer service skills. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Significant cash handling or bank teller experience is required. Be prepared to attach a digital copy of your resume when you apply online.
Kitchen Leads assist the Managers of the Kitchens within the Festival's Food & Beverage concessions. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, be comfortable working in a kitchen environment, have effective communication skills, have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, possess basic math skills, and be able to work standing at a counter for long periods of time.
Kitchen Managers supervise the back of house operations, including inventory functions, for the kitchens within the Festival's Food & Beverage concessions. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have cash handling experience, be able to direct staff, have effective communication skills, have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, have basic math skills, and be able to work standing at a counter for long periods of time.
Cash Handler Managers:
Cash Handler Managers supervise the front of house cash handlers at the Festival's Food & Beverage concessions. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have effective communication skills, have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, have basic math skills, and be able to work standing at a counter for long periods of time. Cash Handlers / Servers:
This position includes serving food and beverages at the front counters of the Festival's Food & Beverage concessions. Applicants must be comfortable with the public, taking orders and making change. We will teach you how to interact with our guests with a Renaissance flair. If you are looking for a position where you get to wear a costume and have fun with customers, this is the job for you. Basic math skills are essential. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
Food & Beverage Cooking:
This position requires preparation and cooking of food in a high volume environment. Experience is beneficial and preferred. If you don't have the know-how but are willing to learn, we will give you the training and tools necessary for gaining a successful work experience. This position is performed backstage, so it does not require a costume. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Food & Beverage Preparation:
This position includes preparation and/or dishing up food or beverage for our customers. Experience is a plus but not necessary, just the desire to learn and present our food and beverages with pride. This position is performed backstage, so it does not require a costume. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
Employees are assigned to an area to keep it free of litter and to pull and dispose of bags of trash once they are full. This job is performed in street clothes and we provide a Renaissance Festival T-shirt. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
Employees courteously and efficiently guide vehicles into parking areas during Festival show days. This position is performed in street clothes and we will provide a t-shirt and other equipment. Fee collection does not occur. Parking is FREE courtesy of Festival sponsor Harris Teeter Grocery Stores. This benefit allows for more rapidly bringing of cars off the road system with no stops necessary for payment of a parking fee. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older.
This position is responsible for the safety and comfort of our guests. You will assist in finding lost children and parents. You will be available to provide directions and are the first to respond to medical needs and watch for hazards. We will provide a t-shirt and ball cap for this position. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Craft Shop and/or Games Employee:
Crafts & Game Booths are independently contracted businesses. They are responsible for hiring any employees they need. Craft and games vendors sometimes arrive a week before the show, and typically have their employees lined up. Seasonal Marketing Assistant (position no longer available) :
The Seasonal Marketing Assistant will support the administration of a variety of marketing activities such as the fulfillment of print, television, radio, and online advertising programs. The fulfillment of partnership agreements. The marketing of affiliate and advance ticketing agreements. The distribution of admission tickets to affiliate organizations. Assisting with coordination of Weddings and Special Events. And other marketing related tasks, as needed.
