Wait listed tickets
On some occasions, the Festival will “pause” the sale of tickets for a specific date. This does not mean that the date has sold out of tickets.
A pause typically occurs when the long-term weather forecast remains unknown or uncertain and advanced ticket sales for a specific date have reached the limit for available usable parking if some parking fields were to be wet from rain.
The Festival is open rain or shine (except for rare extreme weather conditions). Lingering wet conditions can sometimes inhibit the ability to utilize all parking fields. (If the Festival cannot open at all on a specific date, a 100% refund is automatically issued to all purchasers of tickets for that date.)
Tickets are placed on pause to be certain enough usable parking remains available for those who have already purchased tickets. The sale of tickets will resume, with additional tickets being made available for sale for that specific date, if and when the weather forecast becomes known to be favorable - typically 3 - 5 days before the paused date.
Favorable weather conditions will allow for more favorable parking field conditions that can accommodate the additional attendance.
Tickets for a date that which sales have been “paused” can still be reserved in advance, for if later released, by joining a waitlist. Waitlisted tickets are released in the order of waitlist reservations received. Click to join a waitlist.
Frequently asked questions about the waitlist:
-
Typically, 3 – 5 days before the paused date when the weather forecast becomes more certain.
-
Those on the waitlist will receive their tickets in the order in which they joined the waitlist. This can take a few hours due to the length of the waitlist.
Those no longer wishing to wait can log into their BigTickets accounts to cancel the waitlist and purchase tickets, if tickets are and remain available for sale online. -
No. There is no method for the festival to verify and/or ensure that people will in fact carpool and/or use a ride sharing service, even if they insist they will. Furthermore, the BigTickets system does not currently allow for the sale of tickets to individuals on a unique, separate basis while simultaneously pausing sale / holding tickets for the masses.
-
Ample additional tickets are available on hold for those that signed up for the waitlist and those on the waitlist receive priority access to the tickets. Tickets are sent in the order in which the individuals signed up for the waitlist. Your credit card is not charged until tickets have been sent.
-
No. You sign up for the waitlist in the same manner that which you would purchase a ticket, via the “Buy Ticket” page on the festival website, choosing your desired date of attendance, and following the instructions in the shopping cart.
-
Yes. You may cancel at any time by logging into your BigTickets account.
-
Currently the BigTicket system does not accommodate the ability to apply promotional discount codes when signing up for the waitlist. They are working on a solution. Those with promotional discount codes are encouraged to check the festival website 3-5 days before the paused date to see if additional tickets have been released for sale to the general public. (Which is very likely).
